Queen Marie Theatre

A Fellner & Helmer jewel, built in 15 months

Teatrul Regina Maria

Designed by the Viennese firm Fellner & Helmer and built in only 15 months, the theatre on Piața Ferdinand opened on 15 October 1900. Behind its neoclassical façade lies an intimate Rococo-style hall; the building is home to both the Romanian-language Queen Marie Theatre and the Hungarian-language Szigligeti Theatre.
